Time to add a Trackball to my CP, Opinions Requested
« on: March 28, 2005, 02:18:27 pm »
I am attaching a picture of my current control panel and my proposed new control panel.  Looking for opinions on both I guess.  I have the option of just replacing my dedicated 4 way joystick with a trackball but it seems to me it would basically be useless for Golden Tee, unless your a thumb spinner.

That is my current Layout.  Yellow buttons are pause, Green buttons above the fighter layouts are for my Dreamcast Start buttons and Pinball Flippers for Visual Pinball.  Upper left are control buttons, esc, tab and enter.  Green buttons on the upper right switch the system from PC to Dreamcast.  Its a 2 person layout, believe it or not, basically everything from center to the left are the default Mame Player 1 joystick and Buttons, the Right joystick and fighter buttons are Mame Player 2, the Home Made Trigger joystick is Mame Player 3.

This is how I see a new control panel with the Trackball of course.  Please advise.

The Buttons in the middle with Joysticks left and right are my patent pending** solution for Defender/Stargate/Robotron and basically every other classic game.  I use that layout for EVERYTHING, since I dont actually play the fighter games.  As stated earlier, this is a 2 person cabinet.  The left Joystick, Left Center Joystick and Dedicated 4 way are all wired in parallel to Player 1 in mame.  The right center Joystick and buttons are Player 2.
