Donkey kong crashes pc in mame, whY?

I am running commandline mame on a 3400 athlon xp.  the game dkong causes the pc to crash I do not know why?

Is this standard Mame, or one of the derivative builds?

you should default to the standard build for stuff like that.... At least for a quick test.

but did you build it yourself?  I get stuff like that when I don't do a make clear first.

Yup, dev builds are prone to problems.  Although I've never heard of one causing a PC to crash.*











* I know darn well he's making a dig at using an Athlon.  There isn't anything wrong with AMD processors.

found out it was the ArcadeVGA drivers did not install correctly.   As far as Athlon's are concerned they work great.

I'm glad that you discovered the problem.  However, for better help, next time you should post more information.  That you were using an ArcadeVGA (and therefore you're talking about a cab, and not just dkong on your PC) would have been really helpful.

Always post: hardware specs, software specs (revisions, etc) and *any* pertinent information
