CPS II boards
« on: March 28, 2005, 06:51:43 am »
With the CPS II system boards there is an A and B,

Do the colours mean anything ie Blue, green, will they all fit the same A board, or do i need the A board for blue the A board for green etc.

Cheers

I might have the colors mismatched, but the colors are region identifiers.  Blue is US, Green is Japanese, Grey is 'other' I believe, like UK, etc and I think there are Orange ones to signify Brazil, mexico, etc.  Again, I could be off on the colors.

I heard that US and JPN boards will work with the same A board, thats about all I know.

I don't beleive that any of the boards are swappable stock.  I bought a set and was told that the motherboard was hacked to play any region.  I was told it was easy to do.  So if you see one mismatched pair, don't assume that all boards can be mixed.

Most common B board colors:

Green = Japan
Blue = U.S.A. and Europe
Orange = South America
Grey = Asia

Grey and Orange B boards need the same colored A board to run. Green and Blue B boards are interchangeable, so Green B boards will work on Blue A boards and Blue B on Green A.
