Looking for an empty cabinet in Southern New England
« on: November 13, 2002, 12:26:21 am »
Hi guys. I'm chomping at the bit to get going on my MAME cabinet. I just have one problem... I don't have a cabinet! :'(
I'm looking for an empty arcade cabinet in the RI CT MA area. If you could help this poor guy out, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

It would be worth a shot to mail kevin from k and S

http://ksfamilyamusements3.hypermart.net/19empty.htm

to see if he still has any gutted cabinets (which he was giving away for free if you come pick them up in Enfield, CT ) (up 91 N )

He had posted a message on the Rec.Video.Games.Arcade.collecting a week or two ago... that they'd need to be picked up by "this weekend" (meaning a weekend or two ago) so they may or may not be firewood...

I'd also search in there for other "free" or cheap gutted cabinet offers in CT...

There's also an auction on NJ soon ... maybe head down there and pick up a beater working or non working cabinet?  what type of cabinet style are you looking for?

I'm in CT, and also did a conversion...

good luck...

I'm looking for an upright cabinet that's 70" or shorter... I have one place to fit the cabinet nicely and that space isn't getting any taller! :) I don't want to go with a cabaret style because I want the 19" monitor (or bigger... but I'm not sure they make cabinets that will fit my height requirements with monitors larger than 19") Anyway... that's what I'm looking for.

The taito cabinet I picked up from kevin was right around 70"  (I think it might been just under 6 feet maybe less I'll measure at home)

you can also "chop" down a cabinet... sometimes when a cabinet gets water damage, they become "shorties"...

I fit a 21" monitor in mine horizontally - with the frame removed  cheez whiz photogallery

blah... i dunno... I guess bring a tape measure where ever you find one =P

*shrug* just a thought.

good luck... i'll keep an eye out for ya.
