General questions about wiring etc.
« on: March 25, 2005, 06:36:05 pm »
I'm looking for some DB25 connector's in the UK to copy the example set by this site http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jdpyle1/controls.htm

Is this what i'm after

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1467&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=24m3
 or http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1113&TabID=1&source=14&doy=24m3
or http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1119&TabID=1&source=14&doy=24m3

For the wiring to be used could I buy this cable and split it apart

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=230&TabID=1&source=14&doy=24m3

alternatively what is the UK equivalent of 22 AWG stranded wire?

Final question for the moment is how easy are these to solder for someone whos never done anything like this before?

Thanks in advance

Unless you NEED to use those connectors I instead suggest using a JAMMA harness and Jamma fingerboards, easier to deal with, can be cheaper, and it is more arcade authentic.
