Building supergun, help with sound??
« on: March 24, 2005, 04:20:17 pm »
hello all, well im new here and there's alot of good info here, the only thing im missing from completing my supergun is how to plug up the sound to work, ive done it all already, power supply, ntsc/rgb converter, jamma harness,2 controllers, and bought some pcb's(run and gun, immortal kombat2) now i want to get the sound to work, ive seen on ebay that some of these arcade home systems allow you to plug up rca's to your system to play as surround sound, pls help me or if you know where to find this out it'll complete my project, thanks all!!

JAMMA doesn't do any kind of "surround sound".  I guess I'm a little foggy, but what are you trying to do here?

well im trying to get sound from my television from the supergun, what do i need to connect sound so it'll come from television, sorry i didn't say it right the first post, i meant it comes out of the receiver??in other words how does the sound come from the jamma harness to a speaker, do i just connect the speaker from the - and + wires coming from the jamma harness, also how would i control volume if i were to do it that way?? thanks all

you would need to rig and RCA cable onto he audio wires from the jamma harness, that would plug into your audio in on your TV. the volume could be controlled with the TV volume. most jamma games are mono, so you will have to use a splitter or something if you want Faux "stereo" there are stereo jamma games, but they use a special wiring harness straight from the PCB.

hey thanks for the info, well my project just got held off for a couple days, i tried to wire up the arcade power supply and i burned it, all i did was plug the white wire to the 110v bolt, the black wire to the fground bolt, and the green wire to the chassis of the power supply, then boom blew up, oh well now i need another power supply, i need to use an arcade one cause i need the -5v!! thanks all!
