Need help finding an empty cab...
« on: March 23, 2005, 11:19:04 am »
I have finally received the ok from the wife to bring an empty cabinet to begin my first MAME project into the condo. Trouble is now that I haven't been able to locate one. I am hoping that some local soul has a spare cab that they are looking to get rid of. Please help me before she changes her mind. I live in Baltimore, MD but work in Washington, DC. I have a truck and would be willing to drive within 150 miles or so from either of those locations. Thanks for everyones assistance in this dire matter...

Hey!

How do you feel about going up to Lehighton, PA to pick up two empty cabs! I just want one and was gonna barrow my friends truck, but if you got one maybe we could work something out=) I live in Northern Virginia area about 10 mintues outside of D.C.

The cabs are gutted and they where offer'd in an earlier post so you can look them up there. I've already emailed the guy and was just waiting on my friend to lend me the truck this week. I'm off all this week so I'm open to when you want to do this, except maybe saturday I might have something important I would have to attend... thats about it.

Drop a PM or a email and let me know what you think. The owner of these cabs will trash them by the end of this weekend if they are not picked up.

thanks,
Jay

Sounds like a plan. I would first like you to give me a call to work out a game plan. Also, do you know the condition of these cabs and what is left in them (if anything)?...I emailed you my mobile number, call me when you get a chance.

Thanks,
Matt

Don't want to step on toes here, but I guess your deal fell thru with these cabs since I am going to pick them up tomorrow.  Just wanted to double check, since the guy emailed me and said there available.  I would hate for you guys to travel all that way for nothing.  Will post some pics when I grab them.

Conseit68 - There is a great place in Hagerstown, MD that I went to for mine. Paid $50 for a Mortal Kombat II cab. Was perfect for me. I actually was going to buy a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one for $200 because it came with a 25" monitor but figured, save the money and use an old TV instead. The guy there is really great. Payment through Pay Pal and he even threw in the straps to tie it down for free. Since you live so close, I figure its a perfect deal for you. The warehouse is HUGE and I', more than certain you'll find the cab you're looking for. Not sure of the URL but somewhere on the board here there's a post about it. Do a search for Coinopwarehouse and you're sure to find it. Hope that helps.

http://www.coinopwarehouse.com/

i'll second everything nav said. as a matter of fact i was going to suggest the same thing. it's worth the trip just to browse the huge sulection of games.

i read on rgvac that he's also having some sort of make an offer sale. he said he has a ton of games coming in so he needs to sell some. might be a good time to buy.

fwiw, i bought a very solid galaxian ct cab, minus the top, for $25 last year from him. i was pretty happy with the transaction

good luck with your project.

If that Battlezone is missing the half silvered mirror then I have one to fit it, I think it is in my closet.

The largest non-vector monitor that you can cram into the original position to view off the mirror is a 17" decased PC monitor, the original vector monitor had a really shallow tube and you simply CAN'T fit a color monitor of the same size in there.

No, page, the mirror is there.  I took it out and cleaned it and it looks like it was just put in there like back in 1980.  It's a nice smaller cab to mame, since it's thinner and smaller.  Don't know what I'm going to do with it yet.  Maybe some friend will show some interest and I'll mame it for him.
