Applying side art to a wood, painted cab?
« on: March 22, 2005, 10:37:27 pm »
What would you folks recommend I do my sideart with, and what would be the best way to make it stay on?  This is a bartop cab, made of oak plywood and given a few coats of semi-gloss paint.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks as always!

Marty

Just thought I would try one more time here, no one has ever put sideart on a painted wood cab?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Marty

I would make sure that you apply many coats of some type of sealant and sand with fine sandpaper in between each coat to get it as smooth as possible.  This will make applying the decal/side art much easier and less likely to trap air bubbles...

and if you're daring use that super 77 spray glue...it won't come off i've used it to put art on my coin door.  just be absolutely sure the artwork is positioned correctly *before* you lay it down and then smooth with a kleenex or soft rag moving from the centre to the edges.

good luck!
