newbie: how to set rotary inputs in MAME
« on: November 11, 2002, 10:47:51 pm »
Well I'm pretty sure I've hooked up my Happs rotary joystick properly using the opti-pac and I-pac.

How do I tell MAME to use the rotary input, for TRON for example?  I go to TRON's "Input (this game)" menu right?  Do I just highlight the input, press enter and then rotate the joystick?  Doing so does not register anything in the highlighted field.  Does this mean I've got a problem with the wiring?

Did you enable "mouse 1" in the mame .ini file?

If you want to be able to assign specific mouse axis, check out Urebelscum's port of Mame : Analog Mame. It lets you assign specific mouse axis to what ever control that you want. Its mint.
