WTB Heatshrink tubing
« on: March 17, 2005, 12:13:43 pm »
Hello,

I want to get some heatshrink tubing. I want to insulate a solder connection between two fairly thin wires. One wire is an LED and the other is a 24 to 26-gauge wire.

Also, I want tubing that does not require a heat gun and that will shrink easily using a normal blow dryer.

So, what kind of tubing (size and manufacturer) should I get?

TIA,
Buddabing

I use a match or a lighter to shrink the tube. Just put the tube where it needs to be and pass the flame below it until it shrinks to your satisfaction. If you are doing single wires, this should be just fine.

Any ol' heatshrink will do. I get mine from Radio Shack.

Depends.  Where you live, what else you need, how much you need.  I'm going on a shopping spree at Jameco (my catalog came in the mail today :D ) and Im just gonna pick some up there because hey, 1 meter of heatshrink can't kill the shipping :)
