Coin Door Question
« on: March 15, 2005, 06:58:33 pm »
Hey,

I'm getting ready to buy a coin door.  I'm thinking a 4-player type so it'll do the job for multiplayer games.  It's tempting to buy one on E-Bay but my main concern about that is that I want to get a second set of coin mechs for use with tokens, and I don't know if a 4-player door I find on E-Bay or whatever is going to be compatible with the mechs available on Happ.

(I am specifically looking to get a separate set of mechs for tokens.  When the token mechs are active I don't want people using quarters - and vice versa, perhaps.)

If anybody can help me out with information, what to look for, etc., it would be helpful.  Thanks.

Not sure if this helps but I built a 4 player arcade and purchased 2 2-Player Over/Under coin doors w/ mechs off ebay and those work just fine. This worked out  much cheaper also being that 4-Player doors were hard to come by. Going either route though, you should be able to pick up just about any set of coin mechs off ebay as they are pretty universal and pretty cheap. Never looked for mechs for tokens though so can't help you on that one. I would assume they'd be about the same size and you could probably get them to fit if they were a different size with some manipulating but I'll leave that one to someone w/ more experience.
