FA: Star Wars yoke w/ USB
« on: March 12, 2005, 10:38:53 pm »

Ouch...  I regret that it was time to let this one go.

A while ago I got a 2nd Turbo Sub yoke and I did the MS Dual Strike hack to it like I did my 1st one.  This yoke is actually much nicer than the one I have on my own MAME cab cp, it looks like it just came off the line in '83.  The history behind this yoke was that the Star Wars cab went to a warehouse in '85 to become a Turbo Sub conversion, but since that game never actually made it into circulation, this yoke has been in that warehouse since then.  Hardly any use on it at all, and it shows!  It is absolutely beautiful, no kidding.  The pics seriously don't do this one justice at all.

If I had the time, I would have kept this yoke and sold my original one, but I just don't have the time to mess around with my MAME cab like I used to and it's time to make more room at the Oscar household so I'm selling off some of my stash again.  Hopefully one of you guys can make better use of this yoke than I did, it's been sitting on my shelf for too long now.

Any questions, please feel free to email me.

Thanks,

Kelsey

CC - Yes, it is extremely clean.  A very nice example of a SW yoke, no doubt.  I'm already kicking myself for auctioning off this one instead of my other one.   :'(

Oscar, the truth of the matter is that the Star Wars yoke is gonna bring you some sick cash.  What can I say?  Sex sells and that things is beautiful.  Especially the topless photos.  ;)

Heh, good one!  :)

The reserve was $175 and I honestly didn't think it would meet reserve to tell the truth.  That didn't really bother me, either, since I wasn't looking forward to selling it in the first place.  I was hoping that I would have a chance to keep this one for myself and sell my other one instead because I doubt if I will ever get my hands on another original yoke as nice as this one.  At least someone will get it and use it, rather than me just leaving it on a shelf for who knows how long...

A raffle would have brought even more cash now.  But thats hindsight. Which as we all know is 420/420 or something like that.

I knew I should have made an offer for it when I saw it years ago.  You where complaining that you never used it at the time.

It was probably worth keeping it for the increase in resale value.  Back in those days, you could find perfect ones on ebay for less then 100 bucks.

The price is getting unusually high.  I hope they aren't just playing with you.

That could be, but there's no way to really know...

However, I have already received one offer to end the auction early for an amount greater than the current bid is at right now.   :o   I won't do that, though, because I hate it when I'm watching an auction and the seller ends early.

Absolutely, I believe that 100%.

If I didn't want to be fair, I would have just set up a raffle rigged so only Hoagie_one would win, or a lottery, or contest....

Wholy moley, now I wish I would have bought that bargain one from paige that he sold for around 250 I think.Congrats on the profit,---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- if people pay that for a good working yoke more power to you.I want a nice yoke for my arcade but not that badly. Now I think the act-labs gun for 240.00+ is reasonable.

Thanks!

While my basement may now be a little cleaner physically, mentally I almost feel a little dirtier...  It did go for quite a bit more than I had expected.  On the other hand, I really have never seen another yoke in as good of shape as this one either.  In any case, I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with it, it does play beautifully.
