Arcade type gamepad
« on: November 05, 2002, 02:17:22 pm »
Someone has built me an arcade gamepad using a universal stick and 7 buttons. I gave him a gameport wire to use but he only connected the stick and 5 buttons.

How do I connect the remaining 2 buttons.

I tested this thing on the gameport (AWE64 s/card) and in Control Panel Game Port - this stick is not detected.

Please Help !

Hi zgamer,

I understand from your expalnation that you've had someone wire up an arcade joystick and a few buttons dorectly to a joystick extension cable?

If this is correct then the reason why you're having problems is that using this method only allows you to connect a TOTAL of 2 joysticks and 4 buttons.

If you only use 1 joystick you can wire up more buttons by connecting them to the inputs of the otherwise unused 2nd joystick, but without pictures and/or a detailed explanation of how this person has wired it all up then it's impossible to say why your PC won't detect it!

Feel free to email me with some pics (small JPGs please!) if possible and I'll see if I can help you sort it out. I have wired up literally dozens of OzStick Singles using the PC joystick port so I hope I can assist!

Cheers
