Best place to find them would be eBay.  It would probably be cheaper to try and get an Ikari Warriors CP.  Those that pull the joys and list them seperately usually charge more.  I've never seen a wrench available anywhere but here.  If anybody knows a cheaper place to get one let me know.  I plan on picking one up when I start working on my Ikari Warriors.

Oscar (I think it was him) wrote a how-to in here somewhere on how to remove the handles the macguyver way--a paperclip, some chewing gum and duct tape--well maybe just the paperclip but you get the idea...

here we go...

These are hard to come by for a fair price.  $60 each is hardly a good price.  Thats what one guy is selling it for on ebay right now.

Damn.. really?  Hmmm.....  ;D

Like I said, look for a complete control panel.  I've seen a populated Ikari one go for around $30 if memory serves me correctly.

Tell me about it.  I've been watching for them for a couple of months.  I almost had a panel for $30 but I forgot about the end time while doing my taxes.   Freakin govt!!

Anyway, I bought a a crummy used pair already but I need a metal bracket and probably a new encoder.

You can buy the pair from the same guy(Vendor amusements?) for ~$130.  I just ain't going there.  I'd rather spend it on a Tron repro.   ;D

Sounds to me like somebody could redo these pretty easily by making handles like the SNK to fit a Happs rotary or something.
Any takers?

Don't feel too bad, my customized P-360 joysticks ended up being like $60 each once I put repro Robotron handles on them.

I have 4 (or perhaps even 6) LS-30 rotary sticks that I could sell.
I'm located in Sweden though, so the shipping would probably be more than you are used to "over there" in the states.

We in Europe are used to pay shipping almost as high as the item we buy from the US...  :'(

too bad... I bought two when they where 15 bucks or so at www.videoconnect.com... Now their 60!  (*now why would someone buy one on ebay for 70 used??)

And as for how expensive they are... this is because its becoming a lot more popular... And for some items (like these) they aren't making more of...

What kind of price with shipping are we talking about?  If the price is good, I'd maybe like 2 of them

Well... I don't really know... how about $30 each? That's half the price mentioned above. Is that a fair price?

As for shipping, I'll have to remove them from the control panels and weight them, but I'm guessing around $44 for 5-6 days delivery and $91 for 2-6 days global express delivery.

...actually, I just checked, and I might be able to squeeze them into a padded envelope for $20-$25.
That's not as protected as a box though...

Not silly... your just not used to them...

Cross Content shipping is pretty !@# cheap if you think about it....

If I could only build a box with airholes and ship myself to somewhere warm... I would be one happy camper...

Keep an eye out if there are any local auctions as well.  I got my Ikari Warriors for $10.   8) Cab was falling apart, but plays blind.  I got the boards and CP and everthing.  Just waiting to put it in a new cab.

My panel now is similar to the SUPERCADE PANEL except that it isn't two levels and there is a real Tron stick instead of an analog flightstick.  I mis-judged the placement of some buttons and one stick, so I find it to be not as player-friendly as I wanted.  With all the new stuff I bought I am going to come up with an interchangeable control panel system.

Here are the panels I could populate with all this stuff:

1.  Discs of Tron
2.  Ikari Warriors
3.  Williams Multigame (also for asteroids)
4.  2 Player Fighter panel with a 4 way joy in the middle
5.  Trackball panel for GoldenTee, Shuffleshot, Schuuz, & WC Bowling
6.  Star Wars Yoke Panel
7.  360 Steering Panel
8.  270 Steering Panel

I had considered making a rotating panel like 1up, but there's too much crap.  I would just build 8 different machines, but the computer and monitor costs would be too much (plus my wife would throw me out of the house).

Just so everybody knows - Video Connection, who was mentioned in this thread as a source of SNK LS-30 joysticks, just happens to be the Ebay Seller for the auctions Hoagie_One mentioned.  When I talked to them today, they said they had 8 left and then that was it.  I assume they were telling the truth, so this might be the last opportunity to get NEW LS-30s.

Thought I'd pass along that Video Connect hasn't returned my emails for many weeks.  Placed a phone order a few weeks ago.  Said they'd get back to me.  Nothing...  Sent more emails...nothing.  Have sent emails directly to Pete, the owner according to the website.  Says he'll return emails promptly.  When I called the lady said she had seen my emails but her boss was on vacation.
