Low FPS
« on: March 07, 2005, 11:11:16 pm »
using command line mame with mamewah.  Sound is very choppy and my fps are way down.  The only difference is I went from Mame32 to command line mame.  My FPS is at 51 on my mame machine and my other machine is coming in at 59 fps.

config

tbird 1.33
512 memory
40 gb hd
onboard sound
avga

Any ideas what I can change....

Any chance it's using hardware stretching in the default command line mame?  This could cause the slow down.  I'm assuming you are using the same version of mame and mame32?

Correct...it was a complete format and hw stretching is all off....I just reinstalled Mame32 for the hell of it and it works fine...go to the windows command line version and it goes to crap...

FYI running xp...

FIXED IT.....compared the Mame32 config which was working correctly and found a setting that was different....in command mame ini under ###windows misc options ### rdtsc should be set to 1.....worked for me.....g/l
