Controller computer-armoire attachment idea
« on: March 06, 2005, 11:08:21 pm »
I am considering building a free-standing controller setup.  The idea would be to create a box with wheels that houses a PC, mouse, keyboard, and speakers.  On top of the box would be a home-built 2-up controller + trackball.  The idea would be to be able to push this in front of my computer armoire or TV entertainment center, the plug-in the exisiting monitor to the box, attached to the entertainment center or armoire with a few very discreet latches or bolts, and "viola!" home arcade (yes, you would need to be seated to play, but you can't win them all.)  When not in use, it could be wheeled away into a closet.  This would give me a home arcade that my kids could not easily destroy or tip over and it could be put away when guests arrive (so my wife will allow the project).

My question is: is there an example of anything similar anyone has completed? Any ideas/reccomendations on this proposed project idea?
