Optipac Jumper, which connector?
« on: March 05, 2005, 02:38:46 pm »
I want to wire up my Optipac so that it can switch between Rotary and Trackball with a switch( ie. not with the jumper) and I can't find what kind of connector will fit on it.  I looked at some HDD power cables but they looked too big to fit over the wires.

Specifically they are the 6 pins, 3 on top, 3 on bottom, that I'm trying to connect to.

And I don't want to solder to them.

Thanks.

I think it's time you learn to wire wrap.

Look around on some component sites for a 6 pin molex or something.  Look for polaraized headers or whatever you can get.

If you are talking about connecting to jumper pins, could you not use the little connectors that you use to wire things like front sound ports to your mobo?.
I didn't touch it....honest!

I was looking at some CD drive connectors that connect to the mobo, but I didn't think about the sound ones.  I'll check this week.  Thanks.

As far as wire wrap'n,  any links to tutorials, just in case?

Sorry man... From some reason it seemed logical that you meant wrapping the wire... My bad, won't happen again (i hope)...
