An honor that it very much deserves IMO. I have no idea how many times I've seen that movie, but if it were on after I get off work, I'd watch it again. It's way up there on my personal favorites list. The Godfather makes my list as well.

I watched it twice, once because my roommate made me and once because I wanted to see if it could be enjoyable. It was never enjoyable for me. I find everything I have ever seen from Tarantino to be pretentious and self important to the point that I couldn't sit through more than the first 20 minutes of Kill Bill. I got up and walked out of the theater and asked for my money back (got it, too).

Okay, I didn't care for Kill Bill either, but as far as Tarantino's films go, I see that as the exception.

I did sit through HERO, but that was because I'm a huge Jet Li fan. The movie was very pretty but still way too self important. It just didn't manage to communicate the humility it tried to copy from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

I thought kill bill was awesome, he basicly combined "anime style" with "japanese style" movies , and brought it to mainstream america. badass IMO, then again i watch imported japanese movies so i guess im biased

and you know tarantino didnt make Hero, it was a chinese movie he just funded bringing to american big screens

Kill Bill was fantastic too. Tarantino's worst film yet is Jackie Brown and it was still a damn sight better than most movies. Whatchoo mean self-important anyway? I mean, I kind of get it in Hero, where you've got people standing on mountains with fans blowing their robes and hair around, but...

You come at Tarantino movies, yet you're a "huge Jet Li fan". Almost all of his movies are awful. Hero's only saving grace was the art direction. Without all the beautiful sets and cinematography the movie would have been utter crap. Even with them it's worth seeing once, but not worth owning. Hell, the guy was the first choice for Chun Yow Fat's role in Crouching Tiger and he turned it down so he could do The One. Good choice Jet Li.

Next you'll tell us how bad Coen Brothers films are and then sing the praises of Jean Claud Van Dam.

Anyway, how can you be a "huge Jet Li fan", go bananas over WWE, and then go all self-righteous on us for playing violent videogames? WTF is that all about?

What I remember mostly of that night, and it ain't much, is my roommate, who had just been dumped by her boyfriend, walking back and forth across the living room in nearly nonexistant shorts trying to get me to notice and validate her to cheer her up. And I remember her getting more huffy every time I told her to get out of the way of the damn tv.
