Whats the best way to affix a monitor bezel to a monitor???

I really didn't attach it to my monitor (or TV in my case).  What I did is use 1x2s on either side of the monitor space to attache the bezel to.  It only needs to be held in place, my TV is right behind it.  

I think others have "framed" the space with wood and attached the bezel to that, but the monitor/tv still sits behind the bezel w/o connecting to it.
