Anyone have dimensions for a upright galaga?
« on: February 28, 2005, 08:52:03 pm »
Just starting my cab and thinking about one of these

https://www.arcadegames4u.com/oscommerce/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=107

i was also looking for dimensions for the original galaga cab to see if the base of a slikstik could fit into it.it may sound crazy, but it would be awesome if it worked...Dan

www.jakobud.com has Ms. Pac-Man, which is the same as Galaga.

Slikstik isn't a pre-built control panel, is it?

yea...slikstik is a pre built controller with many options....probally one of the best at that, but they also sell parts and controller blanks. i was aiming toward the "classic" model

I like the SlikStiks and all but why would you want to put one of them on a galaga cabinet? To me it would look way to big and out of place sitting on the front of a Galaga cabinet.

I agree.  Sounds like you are looking for the dim's for one of two reasons:

1. You want to find an original Galaga and hack a SlikStik into the front of it (thats just wrong...)

or 2. You want to build your own Galaga and put a SlikStik on the front of it.  If you are going to build your own Galaga, you'd sure be a lot more satisfied if you just did your own control panel that was made to fit the Galaga.  I mean, you can fit plenty of stuff on the original Galaga CP.

no, i would never ruin a galaga cabinet (thats just wrong)
i would more likely build my own. i just really like the curves that
were on the cab. also, i agree the slikstik would look stupid on a original galaga, i just wanted the angles of the cuts so i could maybe build my own with similar curves.

They have a Galaga MAME panel. What do you think? Only one stick though, but a Galaga is to small for two people at once unless you're in love with each other.

No way, those tiny CPs rock for fighters.  Not only are you trying to beat your oponent in the game but your both bumping each other around trying to get the other one to screw up.
Hey Baby, Have you ever met a Newbie with 38 pages of previous posts before? Do you Want to?
