Alt + Tab using an IPAC?

is there a way using shift you can program an ipac circuit board to allow you to press control and tab to switch between apps running on an arcade cab?

You can program seperate "alt" and "tab" and wire them through the same button.

What are you trying to switch between, though. Those are both valid keys in MAME. So it's doable from the IPAC, but I don't know how much MAME would like it.

Don't know what a pcp is, but you can assign a macro to a button with the latest Win-IPAC software.  I think you right-click on the button and there's an option for it.

I think you are limited to a maximum of 4 macros of up to 4 keys each per codeset, but it seems like a really useful feature.

alt would already be a one of the player buttons so that's not a problem.  i'll be switching between mame and wincab. 

i guess i'll have to have an additional button for TAB

If you're just mapping the buttons to the seperate keys, why do you need macros?

i was just wondering if there's another way of mapping a TAB button. obviously ALT is part of player one's control set.

Assume this is a general question (not specific to this thread)

You might want a dedicated button on the cab for Alt-Tab, rather than having to remember to press P1B2 and (whatever you assigned to Tab).

Also many programs use ALT-F4 to exit (or ALT-X), or.  It's more convenient to load a custom codeset for these games with ALT-F4 mapped to your Escape key than to have to remember to press P1B2 and (whatever you assigned to F4) for these games only.
