MARQUEE size for TAITO cabinet
« on: October 29, 2002, 10:34:01 am »
Hello,
I'm currently at work and have no way to measure my marquee size for my TAITO cabinet (yeah, i should have done that yesterday before work), but I need to order some plexiglass today for it.

Does anyone know what the standard marquee size is for a TAITO cabinet??

Thanks
L

I *think* its like 22.5" x 8" or the like... off the top of my head.  I wouldn't order based on that, but I *think* that's what I measured mine at (it even has the taito little embossed label in the corner of the marquee glass.

Would it be enough to find a taito cab's marquee scan and see the print size and guess slightly larger for the glass?

does klov have this info?

*shrug*  I can of course measure from home, but seems like that would be too late for you...

rampy sounds correctL

It is 23 inches side to side inside the cabinet.  22.5 sounds right so you get a 1/4 of play on each end.

Off the top of my head I though the top was 8.5 inches, since there is the slot to up the top of the marquee to insert the glass, but it may be 8 as well.

My cabinet is 23" wide inside exactly. 22.5" wide for the Marquee seems too narrow, 1/4" play each side would be WAYYY too much. I'd order it 22 7/8" wide, 1/16" play each side or even slightly tighter like 22 15/16". The less gap the better or you will have major light coming out the ends...

I measured my glass (installed) just now... it's like 22 6/8" wide which does leave a little gap on either side... but it's the stock glass so... you could fit one just under 23" wide as Iz suggested.

I measured the height (installed) guesstimating for the groove/etc at between 6 3/4" and a wee bit under 7"  (not sure where I got the 8" in the original post)

I'm being lazy by not removing the glass to measure it, if those dimensions are lacking for you, I'll try and get off ---my bottom--- and remove the glass and measure it that way =P
