Opinions needed on NeoGeo button layout...
« on: February 21, 2005, 09:53:47 pm »
Hi boys and girls!

I've been slowly fixing up an old Aussie 26" TMNT (converted to NeoGeo) Leisure and Allied cabinet...

I've got a nice new piece of metal for a control panel, the artwork is off at the printers and it's time to cut some holes for the buttons...

Which layout would be better? The NeoGeo curved 4 buttons, or a stock standard diagonal fighter layout.

I was going to go with the non-neo layout because I would have room to upgrade the control panel (add more buttons) if I ever converted it to Jamma etc... but I'm guessing since my artwork is all NeoGeo, I should stick to the Neo button layout.

Thoughts?

Cheers.

Hey  there did you say convert to jamma that should be set up for jamma already from tmnt or neo geo  games  unless you meant that cab would be a mame cab but you didnt say that part yet , i would apply the buttons that suits the games your going to play its not an original neo cab so id place them any where you wanted

I would use the Neo layout.  If you ever wanted to change the layout, you could add a top row of 3 buttons.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

Stick with the standard NEO GEO layout, obviously it works best for NEO GEO games. ;)

And I'll second the Happs Super joysticks. That's what I've got in my MVS.

Looks like the super joysticks will be a good replacement. I'm assuming that Happs ships internationally (to Aust.
