slikstik p360 handles vs p360 base...
« on: February 18, 2005, 07:06:01 pm »
i was wondering if someone could help me out with this...i got some slikstik steel handles for my p360 and i seem to have a problem hooking it all together.  if i include the space for a wooden control panel, there is no way i can get the e-ring on the end of the shaft, let alone the washer they instruct me to add in as well.  do i leave this off?  it seems to work if i do, but i'm just not sure and want to get it right.  thanks for the help guy's.

Did you count for the 1/4 inch recess you should have at the bottom of your cp.I think you have not purchased the bible, shame on you.

just to clarify, some people router out under their panels for their joysticks due to the fact that they plan on adding plexiglass to the top of theiir control panel.  i think a manufacturer counts on a wood cp to be 3/4 of an inch and so if you plan on adding another 1/4 of plexi, you should take that 1/4 out somewhere else, thus routering the underside.  at least that is how i understood it.

I just received some the other day and they had instructions in them. On the instruction sheet it said to leave out the wood/metal spacer. You don't need to use them.

it all depends on how high you want your handle to stick out of your control panel.  if your cp is 3/4 and then you add 1/4 of plexiglass or other such material, then your gonna lose an inch of your joysticks height.  to counter this, most people router out the spot where they put their joystick, or just get 1/2 inch mdf...i haven't done either yet since i haven't gotten around to my cp, so this is just from a year of learning from reading, not experience.
