minipac button wiring question... ANSWERED
« on: February 15, 2005, 11:52:34 am »
i was thinking of getting a minipac, but it only supports 6 buttons for player 1 and 2, so i've got a problem since i want to use three admin buttons...

my question is, could i just wire up a shift button like player one start and another button like player one button one to the same button (an admin button) and just press one button instead of pushing start and button one at the same time?

The minipac can program shifts just like a ipac.

Ummmmn, Flinkly, Mini-pac supports 28 inputs or 8 buttons for P1 and P2, just like the I-PAC/2, see http://www.ultimarc.com/mp_inst.html  P1B7 and P1B8 are near the bottom of the page.  As far as having a button activate a shifted funcition, see Andy's page here: http://www.ultimarc.com/extra_shift.html or my page (for multiple buttons here (about 2/3's of the way down): http://www.mameworld.net/tigerheli/encoder/shiftkeys.htm

sorry...i was looking at the wiring page for the minipac and it only lists 1-6 on the bottom chart and in the diagram it heaps player 1 1-6 together and then the other two are at the bottom....

thanks for clearing this up, i should be able to work it out then.

i am still kinda interested in the double key button, but that seems to have been answered too.
