Can anyone identify this board??
« on: February 15, 2005, 09:52:47 am »
I got this board, it was supposed to be an outrun board (obviously not), and I am not sure what it is or if it is something that I could sell/trade for something I do need. The board is labeled:

Sega Made in Japan 837-8939 Rev. A 930212 3140 H Sega 1992

and the small daughter card is labeled:

837-8680 Sound BD Option Sega 1992

Any help would be appreciated,
Patrick

Could be an Outrunners board, although according to KLOV that was a 1993 game...

Hmmm! Looks like it has quadraphonic sound. So it most probably is a "sit down" style game.

NO MORE!!

this might be a stupid answer, but couldn't you just play it and find out?

VR Twin or  Outrunners both would use that type of quad-sound setup.

The more I think about it and the fact that it was sold as an "Outrun" board the more certain I am that it must be an Outrunners board.

You might want to post this to the MAME forum.

There's been a lot of talk about Sega games there lately, Outrun in particular.

I'm sure someone there can help identify it.
