to me getting a tatto is like super-glueing on a pair of flairs- hey, they might look good this year. but when they're out of date, there they still are...

although i must admit i once wanted to get a square centimetre tattooed on my arm so i could easily quantify how out of shape it became over the years...

Old topic, but since it got linked in a new one, I'll post anyway.

For me, tattoos are a way of commemorating a certain time in my life. I don't get one thinking I'll still be insanely obsessed with the subject matter when I'm 50, I get them because they are important to me right now.

I waited for 6 years between my first and second tattoo, because I knew the second one would be the one that pushed me over the edge on them. Now I have at least two definately planned, with another couple floating around in my head waiting to take final shape.
$6.75 the hard way-one quarter at a time.

There are two kinds of people in the world those that have tattoo's and those that don't. Those that don't have them will never understand why people like me get them and people like me don't understand those without them.  How in this day and age can you possibly judge people on the color of their skin? If I could fight anyone alive or dead it would be the next mf that disparages people they don't even know for the very personal choices they make regarding their own bodies. Do you really need to jump up on a soapbox and preach the evils of tattoo's on this forum? We get it your a card carrying, right wing, conservative member of the NRA, that's fantastic get off our cloud man. Damn, who killed your kitten?  You seem to be a little on edge considering I don't see anyone in this thread condeming getting a tattoo, maybe a few warnings to not get something thats just a fad.  In fact several people said that have them or are getting one and even talk about getting a BYOAC tattoo, hardly anti-tatto statements.  Take a prozac, count to ten, take a deep breathe and scream "Serenity Now"

Firstly, you're ignorant.  Since your posted gripe is with judging people, and then you proceed to go ahead and judge people, I'ma show you your thought process.  Here goes:

We get it, you're a stupid punk kid with no reading comprehension who is self-obsessed to the point that you can't be bothered to know something about another human being around these parts.

See how I gathered all the information from reading what you said?  Oh yeah, that's right, you ignorant tool, you obviously haven't read JACK in this thread, nor do you KNOW jack about the people in this thread who HAVE stated some minor objection to a tattoo.  WITHOUT FAIL, EACH AND EVERY PERSON who has stated something contrary could be considered a card carrying communist, left wing, liberal member of moveon.org.

The funny part is, each and every one of those people would tell you I AM what you're screeching about, and I DO have a tattoo, and plan to get more.  What is it that you get?  That you're an ignorant ass with little to no comprehension skills and are far quicker to judge another person than the person you've painted as a boogeyman in your pitifully narrow mind?

Better to remain silent and have the world judge you a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.  Asshat.

There is nothing wrong with getting tatoos. I personally don't have them, and I don't want one in the least. Some people make it into an artform, which can be neat in some cases. Some people get tatoos that mean something to them, which can also be really neat.

However, there are exceptions:

-The wannabe suburban white teenager that gets their name or some other oddball phrase tatooed in chinese lettering. One of my friends has chinese crap going up both forearms. I rag him on this every chance I get.

- The kid who gets a tatoo of the one-hit-wonder pop rock band flavor of the week. Yeah, that one will stand the test of time...

- The kid who goes to a tatoo parlor and picks out the first "pretty" thing they see on the wall to be one of the cool kids with tatoos.

If you are going to permanently, and willingly, add something to your body, at least make it mean something to yourself. Don't do it just to be "cool".

I think the message you were so eloquently tyring to convey is the fact that you are indeed an ass. Have you patented your the technology for your thought process machine yet so every ass with a keyboard and one working synapse can use it too?

Terribly ASSumptive and judgemental on your part. I love how you ASSume to know me based off of a single post, It's not like there is an overwhelming body of evidence to support your arguement here. You on the other hand have quite the career posting in these forums, congrats...have a beer and celebrate. Where in fact does one reside if one is "from around these parts"? Based on your sentence structure and phrasing I'm guessing somewhere near Tupelo, Mississippi.

Good work Lt. Columbo, you got me all figured out. You are right I don't KNOW Jack about the people on this forum, never claimed to. Do you know the definition of a hypocrite? Merriam Webster's definition is a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings. To put it in terms you'll understand...you don't KNOW Jack about me.

Boogeyman? You really hold yourself in high regard don't you? You have a tat? Great, I have 10 and I've done tattoo's on more people than I care to remember but that is really off topic. I hate to play the same card again but I've got to point out how hypocritical it is to pass judgement on me while calling me judgemental.

It would've been nice if you had taken your own advice. Look I would love to trade barbs with you all day but it's boring. My post was not directed at you but you seemed to think that it was and for that I am sorry. I am not sorry for your overwhelming need to feel accepted and appear to be cool in a limited social setting like this. Let's just agree to dislike eachother and leave it at that.

I still have absolutely no idea why you first went off on your rant about people hating tatoos, I guess anyone even hinting that they don't like tatoos sets you off in a crazy rant.  This thread should be pretty fun to watch once Drew comes back.

I think the message you were so eloquently tyring to convey is the fact that you are indeed an ass.

I don't need eloquence to proudly proclaim I'm an ass, it's just a magical gift I have.  Jealous?  It's just that I'm an ass who used the exact same process as yourself.  The difference between my post and yours is that I at least based it on something in this thread.  I can only surmise where you pulled your "facts" from, but judging from the smell emanating from your post, I have a pretty good idea.

You're right, it WAS assumptive and judgemental on my part!  Why is it that you can discern this when I've parroted your tactics, yet couldn't refrain from doing exactly the same thing yourself?  You do, however, bring up a good point.  I SHOULD have looked for an "overwhelming body of evidence to support my argument".

Tell us again how much research YOU did in judging those you posted about.  Yet again, the facts point to you whining about someone doing exactly what you've done.  Why do you view it differently when someone's used your methods against you?  I'll point it out to you again, since you aren't grasping it.  The people who posted stating the rather MINOR disagreement with tattoo's would most DEFINITELY crush your ignorant stereotyping judgemental post, and all the "overwhelming body of evidence" you used to "support your argument".

Not only can't you help yourself from disparaging those people you've gotten an "overwhelming body of evidence" against, you go on to state my sentence structure and phrasing might place me somewhere near Tupelo.  Perhaps that's another shot at those "ig'nant folk" whose voices you keep hearing in your head while reading this thread (although where in this thread anything remotely close to your charges was said is still being investigated.  Have Velma bring the Mystery Mobile around front so we can get on the case, quick-like!).  You'll have to forgive me.  Being from Tupelo, my sentence structure and phrasing seem to trouble you, but I can understand, what with such gems as:
Have you patented your the technology

based off of a single post, It's not like there is an overwhelming body of evidence to support your arguement here.

Let's just agree to dislike eachother and leave it at that.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I think mom helped you spell "Tupelo" correctly :laugh2:  (in case you missed it, them's jokes, son!)

The ironic thing is that everyone and their mother, their friend's mom, the dog down the street, and the fish in Uncle Bubba's pond out back was able to pick up on you posting a reply straight out of "The Tool's Handbook Of Replies", and when called on it, having it pointed out and served up to you on a nice steaming pile that should have been saved for your top tank, you continue to act as if the problem is with me pointing it out, and then proceed to call ME a hypocrite!  I simply used the criteria set forth by the poster I was responding to.  Check Merriam Webster for "ironic".  I have a feeling that one was lost on you. :laugh2:  I'm still trying to figure out WHO your post was directed at, since I've pointed out all the information you've missed, but if I didn't stand up for my fellow card carrying communist left wing members of moveon.org who would?  Won't SOMEONE think of the card carrying communist left wing members moveon.org?  OH THE HUGE MANATEE! :'(

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.  See if your phone's working.  I told Kettle you'd be calling him back black ::)

I'm confussed... is this the thread where we post out tattoos or is this the thread where we jump all over the kid who had no idea what he was muttering when he began typing.....

tylerdurden a word of advice before you start typing more stuff that only digs your hole deeper.... THINK before you type, READ the subject before you type.... apologize for trolling in this thread..... delete your account and come back as someone else with a different attitude....

of course you won't listen and you will quickly learn that this friendly forum can also make it not so friendly to those who choose to make it that way........

the black trench coat wearing wannabe loner forum isn't here.......

now if you go back and reread the thread you will see that no one said anything bad about tattoos they only stated that tattoos weren't for them.... I can however bump the thread where the topic did take the course you are hoping to seek with this one but I'd rather just sit back and watch as you foolishly defend yourself.....

now who's got the popcorn?

oh and Drew I think he said bad stuff again...........
