how to connect encoder to PC
« on: February 13, 2005, 03:11:20 am »
I bought a mame box from mameajamma and the encoder is pre-wired. There were no instructions sent so I dont know what to do from here. There are two ps/2 ports, one labeled 'PC' and one labled 'KBD'. What do I plug in to these and where do the other ends go?

I'm not familiar with mameajamma but offhand I would say that PC goes to the PC keyboard ps2 port and Kbd will run to your keyboard if you want one. You appear to have payed a lot of money for your cab. May I suggest sending questions to mameajamma support?

Ya I had it hooked up right just the computer upon booting is saying Keyboard not found. I checked the jumpers and they are on PS2 so I'm at a lose here. I guess I will have to have them ship me a new encorder.

That sounds a lot like a loose connector.

The Encoder is the Mini Pac From Ultrimarc, Which is strange cause they make good stuff there no reason why it should not work. I'm having them send me a new one. keep fingers crossed.
