I figured that someone would say Cut an ide cable but yeah.. an IDE cable can be a pain to cut and strip.. Hows about a trmblock we could hook custom length of wire to ? or just have it be term block then 3 feet of wire with no end crimps?
I'm not sure I follow you. . . An IDE cable is a pain to cut and try to attach crimp connectors to. To cut and run to a terminal block is pretty simple, but the cost of the TB eats up a lot of the cost savings.
If you don't care about it being a gamepad and not a keyboard encoder, then you can use the KeyWiz Standard, which has the terminal blocks built in in place of the pin header.
If cost is no object, you could use the breakout board shown
here, but it's $15.95 with a Hagstrom encoder, and I'm not sure how much on its own.
I would like to see RandyT offer a version with TB's on the board itself for about $10 more, but I don't know if it will happen. . .
