Can the mame.dat be edited in ArcadeOS to match newer versions of dmame? Can someone answer this?

mame.dat? edited in AOS? I dunno why you would wanna do that. I used AOS for the longest time untill mamewah kicked it fromn its thorne.  AOS will work with any version of mame as far as I have used it.
