Star Wars Yoke: Thumb Button Alternatives
« on: February 03, 2005, 10:43:59 am »
Well, I got a SW Yoke a few weeks back with only one thumb button.

There is a guy who sells awesome replacements. They are machined alluminum instead of the original plastic. But, they are $15 for 2 thumb buttons. That's more than I paid for the whole yoke!

Anyway, to make a long story longer

I just got some of the aluminium repros you describe from www.classicade.com - they are superb.  I suppose $15 is alot for a few tiny pieces of metal, but for something so specialist I think it's a bargain.  As someone else mentioned a few weeks back they will send it even to the UK for only $1.  Needless to say I am *very* impressed with the service & quality...

Still, sounds like a good alternative you've found...I know you've already apologised but you know people are going to want pictures!!  :)

Here's what a truss head rivet looks like. I'll see about getting some better pictures of what I've done :-\

You got a yoke for less than $15?

I think we all officially hate you now.  :)

Shell out the $15!  Those yokes typically go for around ten times that.

Did you find someone that doesn't know about Ebay?  A $15 yoke is a steal unless it was in pieces.

I love poorly listed auctions! Spelling mistakes are your best friend in such situations. I picked up an original Galaga 2-way for cheap because the guy only listed it as "2-way joystick".

Sometimes you'll also find stuff misspelled. "Galga", "Missle Command", etc...
NO MORE!!
