What should I use for a CP overlay..
« on: January 30, 2005, 08:19:17 pm »
For a desktop arcade stick that I want to have some kind of red with white lightning or something with red + white but something electric looking.. I'm modeling it after Tekken 5 and will use a Sanwa J-Stik and 8 competition buttons

Go to the artwork forum and make a wanted post for a CPO, then in the discription describe what you want, like you did here, someone will probably design one for you.
Coming soon: 4 player mame cab and Scratch built Moonwalker....Hall of Fame, here I come!

Pancakes.  And lots of 'em.  Then you could use syrup as a covering.  After it hardened, it'd have that nice amber tint to it.

Make sure to thin the batter a bit, it'll spread better, giving you better coverage.

If you need texture, go with waffles.  Same covering

 ;)  ;D

You need a sheet of plexiglass or lexan (I think thats what its called)  you also use this for your Marquee available at most hardware stores.

Pancakes are a nice alternative but after time can prove very costly to replace  ;)

Hope this helps.

I *think* that is formica or something similar - I don't think you can get clear stuff so that artwork would show through.

Why not get it printed onto real CPO material from somewhere like www.classicarcadegrafix.com or www.mamemarquees.com (search this site for opinions etc.).

Not sure about Firmica color

and not sure who said clear/lexan/plexiglass but that's not what I"m looking for..

I'm just looking for some kinda contact paper thats like black or black with red or white with red or something that can "Fit" the theme
"Yeah... at least he built a cabinet. I can't wait to see yours. "

I think I'm gonna go with this stuff

http://www.happcontrols.com/vending/acesor/49057200.htm

it's sold by the foot but is 49" wide so I can use one foot for two control panels
"Yeah... at least he built a cabinet. I can't wait to see yours. "

I used spaghetti bolognese and beer, that way I never have to stop playing. Instead of a bar stool I use a bucket! Sweet.
