Switch specs for Atari cone / volcano buttons
« on: January 30, 2005, 11:27:28 am »
I haven't seen specs anywhere describing the Cherry switch used in Atari cone / volcano buttons.  There are several places selling replica plastic cones.  I've seen a few switches that might fit but don't know  for sure.  Does anyone have enough details to post to know for sure what will work?

There are several Chinese switch manufacturers that have something that may work.  Lighted too.

You are looking at a 1/2" Hole that is threaded at 40 turns per inch.  Let me know if you come up with any possible switches and I'll order them and see if the fit works.  If so, I'll try to buy them in bulk in order to get a discount.

Thanks
Charlie
The Flight Yoke Release date is September 10, 2005.

Shucks, Charlie, if he can find a proper looking button that's just slightly off from 1/2"and/or threaded differently, maybe you want to consider making new cone molds tht would fit the available switches.. I know I'd have picked up some cones from you already if I thought I could find switches to go in 'em..

These are 12mm which is just slightly less than 1/2 inch.
