How can I mount a computer power supply in my cabinet?

How can I easily mount a power supply in my cabinet?  Right now I have my hard drive mounted onto the side of the cabinet using l-brackets and I have my motherboard mounted onto the side using PCB mounting feet.  To mount my OLD power supply I drilled holes into the power supply itself and then used nuts, bolts, and l-brackets to mount it to the side of cabinet.

I got a new power supply and I'm trying to avoid drilling holes into it.  Does anybody have any suggestions for me on how I can mount it directly to the MDF board (eg. the side of the cabinet)?

perhaps you could use some metal straps......

The local hardware store will have all sorts of things you can use.

L-Brackets
Flashing (metal used in mounting gutters)


Theres allso a roll of aluminum stuff you can find in with the plumbing stuff that has holes in it every inch or so, this stuff is sturdy yet easily formed to shapes.

I would suggest goint to your local Home Depot, Lowes, etc and just look arround if you are in the right mindset you will start to see stuff that you can use for other applications of you arcade cabinet.

Velcro would also work very well. (Really, it does.)
It also serves to dampen the vibrations from the fan.  Wooden cabinets make loud sounding boards.

My PSU had some slots in the backside of it, so I could just sit it on the wood and put a few screws in.  This is all that holds mine in place - the weight of it does the rest!  You can probably just make out one of the screws in this pic (to the back/right of the PSU):

serial ata hard drive in your mame rig,very nice minwah...Have any heat issues from it not being in a case?

I used four little tabs of metal with two holes drilled into each one.  I removed the four screws holding the bottom of the power supply on, put the tabs over the holes and put the screws back in.  Now you have four tabs sticking out that you can screw to the wall of the cab.
