Looking to order a arcadevga card and jpac.. The shipping charges just seem ridiculous. Is there a US alternative that offers cheaper shipping?

Last time I ordered, about 2 weeks ago .. the shipping was about $13.00. As far as I'm concerned, that's pretty damn good since your package is being shipped from the UK.

Not to mention, Ultimarc's support is second to none.

You really should reconsider your thoughts about that shipping.

You could buy it from that other company that makes a arcade monitor video cards woopsie there isn't one.The price is more than fair for shipping from London to the states.Plus I don't think saving a few bucks on the encoder and video card is where you want to save money.---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- your in this deep whats a few more dollars.

well i guess with no alternative they can charge whatever they want.. but $13 shipping for a $56 card is kind of high.. oh well

Well, you could always pick up a couple of T-Stick pluses to justify the shipping if you think it's too high.

I used to think the same thing until I had a problem with an ebay purchased jpac. Ultimarc supported AND replaced the card when I could not get it to work even though I got it off ebay. For that alone I will order direct from them everytime in future. REALLY top notch support, it just does not get any better.

And yes, though I saved about $10 off the card + shipping price from ultimarc by buying from ebay, I ate it when I paid round trip shipping to/from UK for the replacement.

Fool me once...

Expect super fast shipping when buying from Ultimarc. It took 2 days to get a package to me and I live in central n. america. Thats insane.

I completely agree with 1hookedspacecadet, I bought an IPAC from him and it wouldn't work. After troubleshooting the problems, I sent it back to him and he replaced it and gave me the USB cable for free...

That's great customer service... well worth the $13 shipping IMHO.

He ships via DHL. People usually receive their orders within 2-3 days! Should he be mailing it via standard slow mail, where your item will take 3-4 weeks to get to you and most likely arrived damaged?

i agree for the most part. ordering one or two things can be the suck with shipping, but if you order a bunch of your stuff all at once, better feelings for sure. I get my encoders from RAndyT

The best deal I have found is the IPac (value edition) which costs only $35, shipping included!

If you are wiring your own cab, support a USB KB, and don't have to remap the keys (you can remap, but the mapping is held in volatile memory), you can't beat it. Just wire it up and go!

If he lived in the US he could ship for ~$8.00, by shipping via USPS Global Priority flat rate. I dunno how DHL rates.

Alot of people seem to realize he has a MINIMUM shipping charge.
What they DON'T realize, is that he has a MAXIMUM shipping charge too.
($18, iirc).

Order more stuff, hit the max, and it's all shipped FREE.

Just out of curiosity, have many people ever received a dead IPAC? Obviously the vast majority of you are presumably happy with them, but I just wondered what the actual number was. (and I paid $24 shipping to Australia, iirc)

Not dead, but I have two J-PACs with the same issue: stuck keys.

Others have experienced the same issues, but I've been lazy (as well as poor) and haven't shipped them back yet.

I've had a couple of issues with Ultimarc products, and Andy has been there
every time.
(Had a video amp with the blue output about 3 times the level of the other 2)
He shipped me another amp, out of his pocket, and didn't ask for the old one back.

Every tech question I've had has been answered very quickly.

I own from ultimarc, 3 minipacs, 1 jpac, 2 7000 series avga, 1 9200 series avga, 3 tstick plus, 1 jstick,2.5 trackball, and 2 video amps.

Except for the amp problem, all of the products have worked great. (Except for a backspin problem on the minipac, but I think thats a operator problem. (I.e. my fault))

Ultimarc is well worth the money, not just for the quality of the products, but the customer service. I'm a tech for the local computer distributor and have to deal with manufacturer support all the time, and Andy does a better job that most multinational corps.

ive gotten 2 Ipacs from him, both work great. great support too, back when i was a total noob i couldnt figure out a wiring problem and he helped me fix it, wasnt even related to the Ipac
