Control panel size question
« on: January 25, 2005, 05:29:19 pm »
I'm looking to build a cocktail cabinet but was planning to build a single control panel for now leaving the option for a 2nd one at a later time.

On the CP I'd like to have a coin, player1, and player2 button at the top and then below that a tstik-plus in the middle with 2 buttons on either side of the joystick.

My concern is with the amount of space available on a single cocktail CP. Assuming I build a 11" wide CP is all of the above going to fit and if it does how cramped will it be?

A single player joy, 2 buttons, 1 coin, and p1, p2 starts on 11 inch wide panel?

Sure that'll fit.....I have a layout for a galaga/ms pac bartop on a 12 inch wide panel that is similar with joy + 3 buttons and there is plenty of real estate.

Easy enough to mockup  using a piece of paper or cardboard....

heh heh... size DOES matter... :D

I think you'll have no problems there, but like SteveJ said, make a sample CP out of cardboard and draw on the controls.
