X-Arcade XGAMING Joysticks
« on: October 17, 2002, 04:15:07 pm »
Does anyone know how the X-Arcade XGAMING joysticks are compared to Happ Super joysticks?  I have Happ Ultimate sticks on my machine now, and I'm not particularly fond of them (the diagonals are FAR too sensitive!).  There's a Dutch auction on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=723320933 for a pair of the X-Arcade XGAMING joysticks for $9.95.  Has anyone used these?  Are they any better than the Happ Ultimates?  Should I just cough up more than twice as much for the Supers?  Can the Ultimates be adjusted to be less sensitive on the diagonals?  What is the answer to the question of Life, the Universe, and Everything?

Well...  I bought from the same auction/seller...

I can't compare them to happs supers as I don't have any...

I do think of them as happ super knock offs...

Does the ultimates have the metal lever actuator arm thingies? you could bend them slightly away from the shaft to make it less sensitive (I actually did the oppositie with my x-arcade sticks... bent them towrads the shaft to make diagonals more sensistive)

Also note most people that like/use happ ultimates replace the spring with a stiffer one as the stock one is way too... uh...loose...  but that's a feel thing... I think bob roberts has replacement springs for ultimates... or maybe there's a similiar spring at ACes/home de-pot

I was going to buy either supers or t-sticks but my budget had me cutting the corner for the ebay x-arcade sticks... They're pretty good for all around, but eventually I'll replace them with t-sticks or j-sticks (From ultimarc) for better 4 way action.

does that help?

Actually, that's very helpful.  My Ultimates just use microswitches and a big square actuator.  If the X-Arcades have the actuator levers, that's probably a big improvement....

Thanks!
