Happ Perfect 360 joystick
« on: October 17, 2002, 11:04:48 am »
Does anyone have any feedback on the Happ Perfect 360 joystick?  Does optical perform better than microswitch?  Will it interface with an ipac controller, etc.  Has anyone reviewed this joystick?

The standard spring that ships with the 360 is a bit stiffer than the super, ultimate or competition.

You don't hear any clicks when you move it around.  It's VERY precise in the sense that the range of each 8 directions is EVENLY divided.  i.e. with the Ultimate joystick, the 4 diagonals have a larger range.

I built my first panel with Ultimate sticks... <-- hated the way they felt so I switched to supers(love em).  I recently built another panel with 360 joysticks.  <-- I have the PS guts working but not the DC.  THe 360s are a bit on the tight side but they feel more precise.

They are the best ;D
I used to have them before. They are worth that $40 as there is no dumb noise when you are trying to play some games. and seem to work better then any joystick. :D

The Perfect 360 idea is great.  No sound like a leaf spring and no maintanence (bending)
to keep working.  However , IMO the better  thing to do is to buy the perfect 360 modules
and add them to a WIOC base and stick.  This is probably a matter of taste, but I prefer
the rubber center (grommet?) opposed to the big spring.  I bought a Happs Perfect 360 and didn't
like it.   The 360 works with an IPAC but you need to give it +5 volts in addition to the 4 directions
and ground.
