opinions on marquee mounting
« on: January 21, 2005, 11:35:21 pm »
I was thinking of buying a marquee from this place http://www.mamemarquees.com I want to put it in a konami 4 player cabinet and rather than putting it in taped to a piece of 1/4" plexiglass I was thinking of having it sandwiched between to pieces of 1/8" tempered glass. I like the Idea that it wont scratch like the plexi does. My questiong is should I make the back piece of glass (nearest to the light) laminate glass with a white film? I thought this might help difuse the light a bit. Any opinions?

I havn't tried vinyl marquees, but this was needed for my inkjet paper marquee.  I uses a few sheets of paper to iffuse the light enough so it doesn't look like crap. (remember, this is a crappy paper marquee I'm talking about.)

The one real marquee I have is painted white on the back.  This too help diffuse the light.

I say get frosted/white plex.
