I need Help with my Jamma connectors
« on: January 20, 2005, 08:39:13 pm »
Hi I just got a new jamma wiring harness and everything looks great except Im not sure how to hook up the monitor. Here is a pic of the current connector and then one of the connector on the new harness. Is there a adapter for this or do I have to cut the new harness and splice it to the old connector? Or did I buy the wrong harness? I thought they were all the same.

Most monitors have their own connector.

What you can do it pull the pins from the JAMMA connector and put them into the connector for the monitor.  If they're not the right kind of pin, yes you can cut and tie the wire ends together.  I see it appears to be color coded.

yeah the colors seem to match up. I figured I was going to have to cut the plug off, but I was hoping there would be a way I could avoid it.

Like I said, you can try just moving it to the new plug without cutting, but I don't know if the pins are compatible.

the pins arent compattible, but at least now I know that its normal for this plug not to match. I thought maybe I had the wrong harness.

Just match Red, Green and Blue (the easy part). Then figure out the last 2 wires. Won;t be too hard really... if you wired them up wrong, you won't see a picture. :D
NO MORE!!
