Safe Mode Probs
« on: January 19, 2005, 06:22:00 pm »
I was trying to reboot my system into safe mode (WinXP) and right at the pop-up screen where it asks something about system restore it reboots all on its own. I shut off the "Reboot on System Failure" option but that didn't help. Anyone else ever have this problem?

LOL my fault.  Damn Spell check on this board changed hard drive to hardier.  I guess I wasn't paying attention.

Some people have problems getting into safe mode using F8.
Here's an alternative method.

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type msconfig in the textbox and press ENTER
4. Click Boot.ini tab
5. Click /Safeboot option
6. Click OK and reboot

You will reboot back into safe mode. Once you are finished, reload msconfig and do the following to get back into regular mode:

1. Load msconfig (as above)
2. Click General tab
3. Click Normal Startup
4. Click OK and reboot
