Paper make your own bezel thread?
« on: January 14, 2005, 03:46:02 pm »
I can't find it using search.  Anyone remember where that posting was?  The dude made his own bezel just cutting paper, glue, etc.

Thanks.
Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.

Don't feel bad. I was looking for it the other day to no avail. I have a fairly abysmal sucess rate with the search function on this site.

Check the new user sticky thread.  It's listed as $2 bezel.

Yeah, but I'm not a new user  ::)

Thanks.  The wife's gonna do this for me.  School teachers are awesome with scissors.

Yeah, but I'm not a new user  ::)

The post is there for *all* users.  It's a good handy bookmark for the basics, and some not-so basics.

I was actually going to throw the idea out there of making one from balsa wood. Thought it would be easy to cut, shape, paint, sand, whatever.

Wouldn't be as cheap as $2.00, but wouldn't cost much more.

I'd still do one in cardboard first, if only to make a pattern. After you've got that you could make one in anything from hardwood veneer to diamond plate aluminum to suit your cab's design.
