Possible alternative lightgun solution??

Would a Scorpion 3 (for Playstation2) lightgun with a USB adapter work for a WG 9200? I only ask this because it appears that this particular light gun works with televisions/monitors that use between 50-100Hz refresh rates, while the 9200 supports 40-90Hz. Wouldnt it be useable because of the "overlap" in refresh? Adapters for pcs can be found just about anywhere for Xbox and Playstation controlers.
