Lexan question
« on: October 13, 2002, 03:13:38 pm »
I am going to be covering my CP with Lexan and was wondering what type/size screws are people using to secure it to the CP?  I am using 3/4" MDF.

I ended up w/ .093" Lexan and used the same screws Snaaake suggests.  Did not need washers, it was pretty sturdy and didn't crack, the screws were right in the corners too.

Well...just screws look kinda ugly(to me anyways) so finishing washer would make it look nicer. Its only couple of pennies to get some finishing washer.

Why make it look bad when you can make it look cool ehh :).

I used the ones that has no screw heads on top.... just round smooth head.... (from home depot...)  too bad... home depot has a code on it... so, not completely smooth....

Well, here's how the finishing washers will look:

I think they really help give it a professional look, plus they spread out the pressure of the screw more to make cracking less likely...
