Newbie: Cab. Computer Help!!! Plz
« on: January 07, 2005, 01:18:10 am »
Hey everyone,

My Name is Joe and I"m really into building my own arcade machine.

Everything is in order except the computer I've got the ROMs on. I'm not experienced in DOS at all so I"ve been using MAME 32 to make sure the games work but from what I've heard this isn't the best option for the final transition. Can anyone plz help me?? : (

My main goals are to have computer looking less like a computer and more like an official machine.

My Goals:
1. Remove Windows Loading Screen
2. Working ROMs with somesort of cool interface

The rest should be fine

If someone could list a good setup ( all programs used and what purposes ) for someone like me it would greatly apprecited

I would suggest using command line MAME and Mamewah, works for me just fine. Apparently Bootskin is quite good for getting rid of the boot start up.

Mame command line and Mamewah definatly.  read up on the mamewah readme and you should be OK.  Also check out use this link.  It is what I used and you never suspect I am running windows in my arcade machine.
