how much do you think this is worth and am i nuts?
« on: January 06, 2005, 04:27:25 am »
i bought a ms. pacman that was converted into a capcom bowling at the last auction i went to
the cab is in very decent shape, the coin mechs have either been kept pristine or are new and the monitor is also nice
i paid 150 for it with capcom bowling wired and working
i was wondering how much a ms. pacman cab is worth empty
i bought it with the intent to convert it back but i just can't bring myself to do it
i love ms. pacman but capcom bowling is just too much fun
am i crazy if i keep this sucker bowling?
i guess i could always conver it to a galaga....
another quickie, does anyone know if there is a safe way to remove paint to see if the pacman graphics are still underneath?
they either painted over them with the ms. pacman blue or took them off
i can't seem to tell

Don't know what its worth - but if you like it and have fun with it as Capcom Bowling why convert it?

If you change your mind or tire of the game you can always convert it down the road.

you could also buy an empty cab and put all the inards of the paccab into it then restore the pacman. that way you will have both.

I think I understand the motive of your question... You think maybe there's some profit potential right? Well sorry, but you'll end up spending as much or more in restoring than it will end up being worth.

game board: $150 - $200
(Might need a jamma adaptor for the board: +$35)
Side art: $295
Control panel art: $49
Ms Pac Joystick: $20 to $60 (used to new range)
Is the Bezel art intact? If not: $139
+Original cost of the cab: $150

Total potential cost to you: $928 (shipping and labor not included)
(prices are from www.TwoBits.com)

If you like Capcom Bowling, then keep it as is.

NO MORE!!

part of me wants it to be worth it's maximum but most of me is just killing myself over the fact that i'd rather leave this conversion of a 10 dollar game instead of restoring it back to it's glory as a ms. pacman
sure, ms. pacman is fun but it doesn't beat playing bowling with 3 other friends drunk off your tail
i guess that she'll stay as is for right now
i just think that it's a shame wasting a perfectly good ms. pacman shell that someone else would lovingly convert back
that's why i was wondering how much one is worth empty, if i could sell it and get another cab to put the bowling in then i would be happy
meh, i guess saving a ms. pacman isn't as big a deal anymore since those reunion machines are EVERYWHERE
thanks guys

Don't lose any sleep. Capcom Bowling is a classic too. I have seen them hit $450 at auction.

The price on Ms. Pacs has dropped low enough where it doesn't make sense to deconvert them anymore.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
