I've been Screwed! They took my money and won't send my case!

  Alright, I'm totally ticked off here.  I need another computer to make a dedicated mame machine out of it and stick it in a cab I am buying.  I planned to just build a cheap pc to use.  So I ordered a $25 (pc case) job from Colorcases.com.  They took my money via paypal and have not sent me my case!  I keep e-mailing and FINALLY received an e-mail from someone stating that the Previous owner of the company took my money and never delivered my case and apparently I am just SOL.  What is up with that?!?!?!?

I tried to file a complaint with paypal but apparently this isn't covered.  They do step in on Ebay related stuff, but apparently not regular business transactions (unless I missed something).

You could always get the law involved

If I needed a case for just MAMEing, I'd just get some cheap plexi, mark the holes required and drill them out, and mount it in the cab with the mobo attached. Gets better airflow that way

Dont forget to forward paypal with the email.  They might take note on that one.

Also... Did you use CreditCard?  If you did... Call them... They can get your money back...

If the company you sent your money to goes bankrupt you normally lose your money. That's regardless of the method of payment.

The company is still in business, hence his ability to get ahold of someone who would tell him that there was a previous owner.  It seems as if the previous owner sold the business to someone who is now the new owner, and the new owner seems to not give a rip that the company name has been tarnished, as he continues to heap new crap atop it by telling him "it's his fault, you're screwed, and I'm not doing a thing about it because I don't have to".

Seems to be a bad vendor hitting rock bottom, and starting to dig.

That's what I thought.  There are lots of ways around this.  I've been screwed a couple of times.

One of my customers went bankrupt owing me more than $50,000.  I got $5,000 from the bankruptcy court.

Meanwhile, the owner's mansion in Miami Beach was written up in Audio/Video Interiors because he was still plenty rich.

i can pretty much garuantee he wont be the new owner, the same owner with probably still have it, your trading name is not allways your company name,  all you need to do is fold the old comapny, intsall a new director  in a 'new company' and trade away on the old name, the case owed is owed by the old company thus, no recorse.. its crappy , happened to me once.. best advice is to keep arguing the toss with him and he may relent.. i doubt it though.  just be a pain in the ass with him, ring him evrey day 2 times a day until he just sends u the case   thats what id do

Yes, I thought about just harrassing the guy every single day just to torment him.  Make him rue the day he stole my money and didn't send my case.  So far, no luck.  Paypal doesn't care and neither does the company I guess.  I did report them to the better business bureau for whatever good that might do.  I hope that new owners balls get infested with yak fleas!!!!

Just looking for a cheap ATX case with lots of room to work in.  The current case my old PC is in is so small it's a pain to do anything with it.  #$% colorcases.com.  I'd like to wait for these guys in the parking lot one night...grrrr.
