Mockup CPO
« on: January 05, 2005, 06:22:03 pm »
I printed out my wheel panel CPO today on paper just to check everything is in the right place (I know the 'C' is not quite right).

Looks good Minwah, I'd actually suggest going bolder with the labels.
Try putting a white circle around each one to make them stand out more.

Nice work on the newest Mamewah BTW. Just getting back into this stuff again and I love the new improvements

I too would keep the labels.  Especially since it looks like your going with a Pole Position and Monte Carlo combination,  2/4 gears.

Thanks for the comments :)

I think I will have a play around with the labels and see if I can improve them.

I quite like the gear labels but not so sure about the button labels - do you think there is much point in the A, B & C?  I will probably be using all black buttons on the final version, since the red doesn't match the red on the artwork.  The labels might be helpful, but each game is so different I'll have to explain to people what does what anyway...

I had another idea - indicate the gears around a h-gate.

Whaddya think?

(can you tell graphic design isn't my cup of tea :-\ )

i like that one!  looks really retrogroovy. mabe make the icon a lil bigger? as for  the buttons, id say no to the numbers,  like you said it changes evrey game so there kinda redundant anyway, dontya think?

Here it is a bit bigger...I need to print this out as the size is hard to judge (the circles for the shifter/button positions are smaller than the holes required so they won't show).

The last close-up didn't show, I think I left it in CMYK - hopefully this will show up:

yeah, wicked!  Some nice sessions on Super Sprint will be just the medicine after you get the CPO on.

Having printed it I think you're right, I'll make it a big thicker (& maybe the fonts slightly larger).

Thanks :)

Yeah good days :)

I have an Atari shifter - take a look at the first pic ;)  It's a 4-speed from a Hard Drivin' tho, but looks the same as the Pole Pos. one :)

That CPO is awesome.

I have a similar theme in mind for my CPOs, since my cab is converted from a gutted PolePos machine. I'm loathe to scrap the sideart, marquee and bezel, and I'd like to keep a racing/PolePos theme going.

You gotta love that Atari Racing badge.  ;D

Minwah,

Is that Atari logo in the middle of the Pole Position wheel the original? I've been looking to get a new logo for my wheel, because mine is pretty scratched up.
