Anybody have a place I can use spray paint in Toronto?
« on: January 05, 2005, 09:18:29 am »
I live in a crappy basement appartment.

I have two metal control panels that each need a couple coats of black spray paint.  I was wondering if there was anybody in the toronto area who has some space (that is heated enough that I can paint) that I could come by a couple times and paint my cps?

I'm not quite done with the cps, but should be in the next few weeks.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

(I've got a couple red ball wico shafts (with no button) to pass along if you're interested)

You can do it there.

Visit some appliance stores.  Get the biggest refrigerator box you can find.  Stove box would work too.

The top should already be off, if it's not, remove it.  Lie it on it's side, and remove the side on top.

Viola!  Instant spray booth, apartment friendly.  Just do everything in light sprays, and near an open window if possible.

I think you can do it at Home Depot or Rona stores. If you buy the paint from there that is. Not exactly sure.

yeah, just get you a giant box and put a fan blowing OUT of your house to suck out the fumes...better yet, is there a sidewalk or something you can setup on?

Just a tip on spray painting metal CPs. Use wood stove/BBQ paint and then bake the CPs at 250C for 1 hour, it's nearly as good as powder coating.

I might have to rangle up a big box.

This is just a quick coat.  I am covering the cp with an overlay.

I'll post pics of the set-up.
