dreamcast nyko pad question
« on: October 11, 2002, 02:06:37 pm »
I am using this pad for my sticks, and it works great. There is only one problem, if the stick is unplugged and then plugged back in, it kicks the buttons into turbo mode.

Does anyone know a way around this? Or possibly a way to disable the turbo function totally?

Thanks.

Cut the TURBO connection that leads to the black spot in your pcb. That way the signal won't even make in there.Cut either the ground or reguler. :)

I am pretty sure because I had similer problem with a psx turbo pad. Some pads are just lame :P

Sorry if this isn't very helpfull, but you shouldn't be plugging/unplugging it into your drecmast while the dreamcast is turned on.  There is a possibility of blowing the joystick fuse.  It never happened to me personally, but I hear other people that have had it happen (especially with cheap 3rd party sticks like the nyko's).

Thanks for the tips. I will try cutting that lead, I was not sure what to do with it since it connected to the black areas.

Well, when we bring the sticks to tournaments everyone wants to use their own stick, so there is a lot of swapping of joysticks. There has never been a problem with the fuse (though I have heard of the problem people had, but I think it was mostly when they used 2 360's and a vmu at the same time)

Thanks again for the tip!
